Under the general direction of the Application Engineering Manager, the Application Engineer will provide direct support to commercial sales initiatives and drive projects from start to finish. Develop solutions to an existing product line for specific application in a commercial sales job order. Support the Commercial Sales team by creating, analyzing, and updating product item numbers in the ERP system. Provide assistance to manufacturing related to Commercial Sales projects and orders. Relay technical information to the Regional Sales Managers and Customer Service Representatives.

• Provide Order Entry support by translating configurator nomenclature
• Create new Bills of Materials for configured products based on the nomenclature provided from Order Entry
• Maintain ERP database entries for newly created BOMs
• Drive the creation and design of custom options
• Lead aspects of the modification of legacy products to improve manufacturability
• Assist in the development of the CPQ selection tool
• Compile product configuration tables
• Run product performance calculations and verify performance data
• Provide manufacturing support for special features developed by the team
• Maintain documentation files of new features and options and communicate to engineering for record
